So waaaaaaaay back on my birthday, nature gifted me the best present ever. In the bluebird house in our back yard, a pair of Eastern Bluebirds had built a nest and inside all wrapped up in dried grasses were 5 perfect, tiny little baby-blue eggs!.  Fast forward 12 days later and we have hatchlings!   We were waiting impatiently, carefully checking the box every morning when the light was perfect to see in the box with a mirror (since it doesn't open except for cleaning)... by 9am this morning two eggs had hatched, by Noon we were up to three and by 3:30p all five had hatched safely and we even got to see the last hatchling nestled inside a… Read More

Today was beautiful, clear and cool as Chris and I took a trip to Springbrook Nature Center to do a bit of simple birding and to attempt to check up on all the reports of the warblers migrating through the area.
